Where My Vote Goes

Poeple ask me how I'm going to vote.

With the election fever in full effect, that is the biggest question on people's minds.

Who we vote for is what is going to set the course of this country for the next 6 years. And people are looking for reasons to vote for either of the two evils.

Obviously this doesn't include the hardcore supporters. All candidates and parties will have people who will vote for them no matter what they do. Those guys are unchangeable. But there is - especially so this time - a large group of people who have no idea who to vote for.

There will be people who decide to vote for The Beast because at least he guarantees stability. Instead of having to deal with a whole new devil who may act in a whole bunch of unpredictable ways, it is better to vote for the known devil. Despite all his corruption.

There are people who will vote for SF because he is the "not-Mahinda" candidate. Who will vote for him because that is a vote to show The Beast that he no longer has support in many areas. It is not a vote for SF, it is a vote against The Beast.

But then again, there are very few people who actually expect SF to win.

So who will I vote for?

I had to think long and hard about this. OK, not that long, nor that hard. I cannot in good conscience vote for either of them. The actions of The Beast pretty much preclude my willingness to vote for him. However, I doubt that SF is any better.

SF making blatantly racist comments was the start. But I just have my doubts in him as a good leader.

So I find that I cannot vote for either of them. Therefore I, like many others, will go to the polling booth and write in a vote for the "fuck both of you and the horses you rode in on" party.
