How come people can write so much better than I can

See that title up there? That was from the lovely Liana. One-time partner in crime, fellow puker in bathrooms and a comfy pillow to lay a sleepy head on. She comes up with cool lines like that on the fly, some of the best lines that I have seen, and I actually have to sit and THINK about mine. Excuse me while I kiss this guy.

I am not jealous of writers who are better than I am. It is simply depressing when they are so damned young and so fucking good. How come I could never write like this at that age??

When I was much younger I got my ass handed to me by a chess player who was 11. I was 21. I lost 19 games out of 20. And i think he let me win that last one so that I would keep playing

I was a child of the 80's but since I lived in Sri Lanka in the 80's, I didn't get to see all the cool 80's shows until the 90's. I saw all the 70's shows in the 80's. That may explain my cognitive dissonances.

I would like to give thanks to all the people who pushed me in this direction. In particular Mary Anne Mohanraj. The ur-blogger. The woman who was blogging before blogging began. Yes, she's cute and cool and sexy. She can also WRITE. I remember the first time I met her I was SUCH the gushing fanboy. She was patient with me, and for that I thank her.

So which way should this blog go? After all, all bloggers are attention seekers, whoring their thoughts and emotions for the adulation of the unwashed masses. If all we wanted to do was write, we wouldn't need a blog. We could use a word processor and save our journals in encrypted files. We could use pen and paper and lock them in a drawer somewhere. What we are, are attention whores, strutting along the streets of the Internet and calling out "hello sailor!" to anyone passing by. All the blog portals do is give us a red light district to ply our trade

So how do you want it? Straight or special? More swearing or less? More seriousness? More insanity? Naked women? You want it, John, you got it.
